i remember when you smelt like snails and dirt
and when girls would chase after you, you would run
and we were so scared, scared of the monsters under our beds
and the boogey man, and voldemort
but more then anything else in the whole world,
we were so scared of growing up.
of turning into real boys and girls, with boners and boobs
it's funny how everything changes.
back then, when someone threatened to kiss you it was a bad thing
and everything was always boys against girls.
kickball was the only real sport, and if you couldn't play it,
you were pretty much screwed.
love was how you felt about your mom, not about other people.
staying up late was anytime after ten o'clock,
because that's when fifth graders went to bed.
having a boyfriend meant holding hands, but only on feild trips.
and even then you hid them underneath your coats,
because teachers were about the scariest things ever.
homework was pretty much nonexistant.
long division was unheard of.
girls who wore bras were weird.
going online was strictly for dollmakers.
and the only bad guys were the ones in movies.
